National Health Insurrance

When you register with the Municipality you will be issued with a civil registration number (a ‘CPR’-number) and Danish Health insurance.

Approximately 14 days later you receive your National Health Insurance Card by post. The card states your name, address and personal identification number and the name and address of your General Practitioner (GP). The Danish health insurance card is your proof that you are entitled to free health care under the Danish health care system and must be presented at all visits to the doctor, emergency rooms and hospitals.
